The Stellar cherry tree that was out of stock is being delivered by two-day FedEx from South Carolina. I was about $25.00 short of the amount needed for free shipping, so I went ahead and ordered a Brown Turkey fig tree. We were going to plant a fig tree on the property; I just had not yet determined where to plant it. After looking at the available spaces, and there are plenty of them, I decided to plant the fig tree in the field southwest of the Carriage House where all-day sun is available. There was already plans to plant two hazelnut (filbert) trees in that same area so I had to do some research to determine the mature sizes of the trees to ensure one tree did not shade the other trees. It all worked out well and there is plenty of room for all three trees. The hazelnut trees will not be planted until this Fall or next Spring. I updated the planting plan document to show the changes.
