We don’t always get a spectacular sunrise that shows off the fall colors; but, this morning was a wonderful exception. I just happened to be on a hill at the east edge of the field behind the house when the sun broke out from behind the clouds. It was still low enough to cast a shadow over Gracefield Hall but illuminated the chimneys and the leaves on the hardwood trees behind and to the side. What wonderful colors! There is nothing better than sitting on the back porch and watching the sunrise come up over the tops of the pine forest to the east.
