The Magnolia blossom opened! Last year we planted two 5-foot tall Southern Magnolia trees. We did not expect to get blossoms for a few years after the trees matured. Yet, last week one of the trees had a flower bud form. We kept an eye on it, enthusiastically anticipating its opening. Well, it opened yesterday. The fragrance is fantastic and bees love it. Southern Magnolia blossoms don’t last long; just a day or two but they are so beautiful in their short life.
Once the trees get older and we get more blossoms, we will cut some and bring them into the house to add a wonderful fragrance indoors. We cannot wait!
